Located in Steenberg Village, adjacent to the prestigious Steenberg Golf Estate, The Hussar Grill Constantia is somewhat reminiscent of an English gentleman’s club. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a Charles Dickens novel – complete with a library corner, mahogany wood-panelling and leather upholstery. Indulge in a perfectly aged steak and a glass of fine red wine, before retiring at the bar with a cognac.

Went there for the red meat and was not disappointed. Both the fillet and rump were first class. BYO with no corkage makes this one of our favourite venues. Very polite and quick service and what a magnificent interior. 'Books with wine in a cellar' is a fitting description. Fine dining.

We visited this restaurant 6 years ago, the last time we visited South Africa, and we were so excited to return. Nothing has changed - amazing food, lovely staff, and we will be celebrating our son’s 6th birthday there on Friday before heading back to the UK (at his request!)
We all agreed that we have never tasted steak like it, and we hope to make further trips to SA so we can come back! Excellent, and highly recommended.

The Hussar definitely makes the best steak I’ve ever had. With the impeccable service, (we were served by Tony, the most delightful man who made our evening wonderful), and the delicious food it is definitely one of our favourite places to eat. Can personally recommend the Chateaubriand and the chocolate vodka martini.

Definitely still deserves our No.1 choice for a good steak in Cape Town. Situated in the Steenberg part of Constantia / Tokai wine route area, this place must be kept secret!
Joyce and her team really spoilt us (again). Kevin pilots a “good ship”, but special mention also goes to the Chef and his crew. My Madagascan steak with green pepper sauce will be hard to beat by anyone else. No corkage on your wines,plenty of guarded parking and convenient if you prefer to opt for UBER like we did.
Well done and keep up the good work. This is quality, this is customer service. As a regular guest from Switzerland, we strongly recommend this establishment if you’re looking for a good steak in the Southern Suburbs. Book in advance.
